It's all about the Crow's Nest....

Well, here is my completed project from the other day.....a nest necklace. To be exact, a crow's nest. You know how those crows are, they like to collect shiny things and put them in their nest. This nest has 3 little freshwater pearls for eggs, a rhinestone button, an antique brass button, white shell button and a tiny metal key and the back has been finished off with a hand stitched piece of felt. Hanging from the bottom of it is a little metal frame which says "bird". It measures about 19 inches long. The necklace has been created from aqua tiger eye glass beads, freshwater pearls, tiny wooden beads and white vintage shell buttons. It's available at:

Squash Blossom and Purple Inspiration

Something hit me this afternoon out of the blue.........yes, that's right an idea for a piece of jewelry! Where did it come from? Often I don't realize where the idea for a creation comes from until I'm well into the creation. This happened today so after I completed the pieces I went back and took the pictures of what inspired me.

This is the finished piece I've entitled: French Countryside
The French Countryside Earrings
A shape of the squash blossom inspired.....
The shape of the focal point of the necklace.
The oregano flower blossom was the inspiration for the purple accent beads in the necklace.
Here's where the French part comes in...... I made these charms from the ground up as they say. Shaped the wire then hammered it flat on a bench block, next cut out French book text and glued it onto the back of the wire shape. After it was dry then I sealed both the front and back with a thick sealer.
