Christmas Ornaments and the Snow Announcer....

There is always room for one more ornament on the tree....right???? Well I believe that there is always room for one more ornament on the tree, one more cookbook in the cupboard, one more pair of shoes in the closet and one more kiss goodnight!

So that being said, here are the new offerings I will have on the Spooky Time Jingles Marketplace starting October 13th.

Announcing......the first snowflake of winter! That's what the "snow announcer" says! Actually he throws his arm wide and says, "heeerrrrreeeeeessssss snow!" This guy has been hand sculpted and sits atop 2 by 2 inch wooden blocks which have been painted and collaged. Available Oct. 13th on Spooky Time Jingles.

Any guesses when the first snowflake will fall in Northeastern Ohio - North Western Pennsylvania?

Spooky Time Jingles Offerings for October!

Halloweenie ornaments are here and go live on October 13th on the Spooky Time Jingles Marketplace! They are known as "the pumpkin fellows"! Hand sculpted, painted and antiqued, these guys are sure to bring a smile to your face. They come in a 6 inch by 6 inch papier mache original hand painted box with lightly distressed edges to give it a vintage feel. The top of the box has an opaque (almost mica-like) lid with a paper pumpkin collaged under it giving the jack-o-lantern a frosted look about it. The fellows are nestled in a bed of crinkled yellow paper with a tag announce them.

His eyes remind me of the actor Gene Wilder! His name is Grins!

The Crow purse is also finished and on Spooky Time Jingles. It's made of wood and measures 5 by 7.25 inches and is 2.25 inches thick. Perfect for lipstick, wax fangs, cell phone, candy corn, 3 mini Snickers, a few bucks and a small bottle of magic potion! It's $25 and shipping is free.

Thi is the metal crow charm that's attached to the bamboo handle with a piece of leather.......I'm thinking it would also make a cute necklace! Hmmmm.....another project! This also shows the paper which is the whole way around the purse. The whole purse has been sealed with semi-gloss glaze to protect it.

Altered Book of 8 Original Fairy ACEOs

I just posted this little gem on Ebay. There are 8 original fairy ACEOs in tiny envelopes with the title of the card hand written on each on one. It has great rich colors.... frosty pinks, warm browns, moss green, persimon reds all with a hint of glitter thoughout the papers.

Halloween Book of 8 Original ATCs.....

I just posted this little gem on Ebay. It's a 4 inch by 4 inch book with 8 envelopes with a Halloween stamp on the front of each one. The 8 ATCs are tucked inside the envelopes. There is even an ATC on the front of the cover......a little witch and her friendly ghost named Boo!

The ATCs can be removed from the book and used in frames or Halloween displays. How cool is that?

The Frost Is On The Pumpkin!

Oh my Blogland friends it is getting chilly here in beautiful Western Pennsylvania and I'm inspired! Today was one of those bright blue October days with the sun glinting off of the golden yellow leaves. Last night, in some areas, there was a frost which brings me to the inspiration of my newest ornament. Have you every heard the saying "the frost is on the pumpkin"? Well if you live in an area that gets cold you will be hearing it soon! It's enchanting to wake up the next morning after a frost with the landscape sugar coated with a thin layer of icy crystals. This dimutive 2 inch by 2 inch ornament pays homage to this saying! I just placed it in the All Hallows' Evening Store! How's the weather in your part of the country? Is the frost on the pumpkin yet where you live?!?!?

The Frost Is On The Punkin

And the rooster's hallylooyer as he tiptoes on the fence;
O, it's then the time a feller is a-feelin' at his best,
With the risin' sun to greet him from a night of peaceful rest,
As he leaves the house, bareheaded, and goes out to feed the stock,
When the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock.

This cool bright autumn weather made me hungry for "comfort food" so for supper I whipped up some White Chicken Chili and cornbread......yummy! The recipe is below.

1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 can of navy beans
1 can of cannellini beans (15 oz can)
1 box of lowfat chicken broth
1 can of diced tomatoes
1 small can of chopped green chilies (4 oz can)
4 carrots chopped
2 ribs of celery
1/4 cup of chopped onion
1 teaspoons of garlic powder
paprika
black pepper
sour cream
shredded cheddar cheese

Chop up chicken into bite sized chunks and cook in 1TBS of oil...sprinkle with paprika and garlic powder as it cooks. In a seperate pot, saute onion in a little oil then add chicken broth (reserving 1 cup) and chopped carrot and celery, bring to a boil until veggies are tender. Meanwhile over at the food processor or blender add 3/4 cup of navy beans and 1 cup of reserved chicken broth and puree. Add the puree to the pot of veggies. Add the chicken, green chilies, tomatoes (drained), the rest of the navy beans and cannellini beans. Add more garlic powder and black pepper to taste and heat on low for 30 minutes. Ladle into bowls and garnish with sour cream and cheddar cheese. MMMMMMMMM....good!

Just posted this little baby on Ebay. It is a book of 8 original Halloween Artist Trading Cards. The book has been created from chipboard covered with decorative papers to give it a vintage feel. This is the inside cover and first page..........
