Nothing says early summer like a big bowl of fresh from the garden sweet peas. My mom always made creamed peas over mashed potatoes and it's still my favorite way of having them this time of year. My Italian husband thinks it's disgusting but if you're Irish you'll understand how we like to "cream" things!
